Friary, Lennox Road North

Hi There,
I have been researching my family history and I found a 1901 census page that recorded my great grandmother lived here with her family (23 The Friary, Lennox Rd north) What was the Friary?

Hi Belinda, according to historic england (the building is listed) - The Friary was:
II Purpose-built model dwellings for the poor. Built in 1851 in Gothic style. Architect Thomas Ellis Owen.

I also found this information written as "Development of 24 flats by Thomas Ellis Owen in 1850s?" - Source is Pomeroy of Portsmouth. It also seems that the road was initially called Priory Road, then renamed as Friary Road, Lennox Road, Lennox Road North and finally Friary Lane.
