-- In the photo you can just read 'Blue Anchor Hotel' over the window on the left, and 'H.E. Bryant' over the main door. Herbert E. Bryant was the landlord. The Blue Anchor Hotel took a direct hit in WW2.
This picture a couple, of pages away, shows the Blue Anchor, just after the bomb hit. Interesting to compare the two images!
